AWAKE Djursjukhus is a brand new, state-of-the-art emergency and specialty veterinary hospital located in beautiful Stockholm. We are seeking a board-certified or residency-trained surgeon to join our team.

Our staff-owned hospital kicked off in July 2021, and it's been a wild ride – we've grown from a cozy team of 20 to a bustling bunch of over 70 dedicated colleagues, including specialists in internal medicine and in surgery, senior emergency docs, interns, technicians, and a fantastic support team. To ensure a great work environment, excellent staff health and to minimize stress/burnout we also have a licensed psychologist and a personal trainer in our team.

We stand out as one of the few hospitals in the region with round-the-clock emergency services and we are the very first in Scandinavia offering specialist- and emergency care exclusively. We prefer collaboration over competition and see ourselves as a continuation of the local family-vet.

We offer several advanced diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities including a 128-slice CT scanner, fluoroscopy, advanced x-ray unit, ultrasound, laparoscopic/arthroscopic surgery, flexible and rigid endoscopy and a diode laser unit. We also have a diagnostic laboratory in-house. We are of course equipped for interventional procedures (IR/IE). We are currently in the process of setting up a physiotherapy-team staffed by licensed physiotherapists and equipped with water treadmill and laser therapy.
