Who we are
AWAKE Djursjukhus was established in 2021 as Scandinavia's first dedicated emergency and specialty animal hospital. In a time when others are scaling back, we chose to open up – 24/7, every day, all year round. We started with a dream to transform veterinary care, to provide our patients and their owners access to specialists at every visit, and to handle emergency situations with the most experienced staff.
How we recharge
Work/life balance is important to us. We offer a 3-4 day work week combined with an innovative workplace where we celebrate focus, collaboration, and community.

As an employee-owned animal hospital, we stand out in an industry largely governed by venture capitalists. We believe in investing in our employees and our service rather than maximizing the return for external stakeholders.
How we make a difference
At AWAKE Animal Hospital, we are deeply committed to making a positive impact beyond the hospital walls. Through our non-profit branch, AWAKE Outreach, we strive to make a difference for animals and people globally. We extend our commitment to animal welfare and promote ONE HEALTH by strengthening existing animal protection programs in collaboration with local organizations and enthusiasts. A portion of our profits goes to our non-profit branch, and we give our employees opportunities to participate in initiatives that truly make a difference in the world.

Career opportunity - Stockholm
We are now accepting applications for our rotating internship.
If you want to kick-start your career as a small animal vet this is for you.
During the one year program you will work under supervision of specialists and experienced emergency vets. You will rotate between ECC, internal medicine and surgery. You will also gain experience in anesthesiology and diagnostic imaging.
